Hiatus

For the past couple of years I have taken a week off of social media. I find it very liberating and refreshing - I highly recommend it. Yes, it's a bit difficult at first when you are used to just checking Facebook. Having it on my phone makes it so easy to just pick it up and check it out.

Usually the week I take off is between Christmas and New Years. This year though I'm actually going to log out tonight and log back in some time around Christmas. The reason being is that I am not seeing the Star Wars movie this weekend and I'm doing everything possible to avoid spoilers.

Yes I'm a big giant geek.

Have a good week everyone. And a big 'ole Merry Christmas to all! (and to all a good night)

On Being American

To Whom It May Concern,

There was another mass shooting today in California. Or as we American's like to call it, Wednesday.

So here is what I fully expect to see on my Facebook feed for the rest of the week: Guns don't kill people; Mental Illness is to blame; We need strict gun control; Ban all guns; etc....... This narrative is getting old but as American's, we like to talk at each other but no one is listening. Lets face it, if the person talking at us isn't saying what we want to hear, we tune them out.

So until we change our narrative AND learn to listen to one another nothing is going to change. Just watch out where you are next Wednesday.

Sincerely,
One Tired American
One hit, that's all we got, one goddamn hit?
You can't say goddamn on the air.
Don't worry, nobody is listening anyway.
